Dealing With Ants

The type of ant you are dealing with is important to know. Some species nest outside and only enter your home to find food. Carpenter ants, on the other hand, are much harder to control because they nest in moist wood and could be inside your home or outside.

A sample or even a picture taken on your smartphone is a big help in deciding what treatment is required. Of course, there may be more than one species of ant present so be sure to try for a sample of each.

Pavement Ants

The little black ant, the odorous house ant, the thief ant, and the pharaoh ant are common species that invade Canadian homes. Pavement ants can become a nuisance indoors as well as lawns, gardens, and pathways.

  • Service includes both inside and outside treatment.

Carpenter Ant

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants damage wooden structures and are a nuisance in the homes as they search for food. They build nests by burrowing into wood and throwing the eaten wood from the nest as sawdust-like shavings. Because they prefer moist, decaying wood, carpenter ants can signal a moisture problem in the home.

  • Treatment comes with a 15-month guarantee.
  • When doing treatments, you must be out of the house for 4-6 hours.
